I enjoyed my experience attending the workshop. Content and presentation by the facilitators was high quality and engaging. Having external vs internal facilitators definitely helped keep the conversation open and freer flowing. At no point did I feel anyone acting reserved or afraid to speak up and make their points or share their own experiences or feelings. The structure of the session and it’s focus on the human elements and impacts to each of us was a key positive vs. taking a more academic view on the topic. Most importantly, each breakout session provided an excellent review of the challenges and opportunities inherent in the topic while allowing us to raise and clarify our own personal viewpoints.
At no point did I feel that the training was “long” or “dragging on”. Even after the break I felt that there was a lot of energy and enthusiasm. I felt drawn into the exercises and maintained my full engagement due to the way in which they were conducted. A useful and rewarding use of 2 hours.

In my 20+ years in consulting, I have been asked to fill out numerous employee engagement survey but the survey’s never seemed complete or get to the real issues at hand. In January 2022, I had a pleasure of attending the J&C COVID Workshop. The workshop was attended by about 15 people from different countries with very different life experiences, different jobs, big and small companies, self-employed, different family situations, etc., and consequently with very different perspectives on experiences of the last two years. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of listening to other people’s experiences, coping mechanisms, and their outlook on life in general. The sessions were well organized, with an introduction setting up the stage and the break-out room discussions. The introduction by Evgenya and Charles and their moderating of the sessions were very effective. While I expected that people had the same or similar experience during COVID to me and my family, it was surprising that for many people it was not the same. It was interesting to hear how different the experiences and to have a chance to learn from each other.

The workshop with Jenya and Charles was great! I enjoyed that they were able to provide a safe and comfortable space for the participants. They walked us through the activities and were very caring and attentive all the time.
Sharing the time and connecting with people from all over the world felt only natural and it was surprising to find out how much we have in common despite our varied backgrounds. The workshop was clearly designed to create that connection and encounter at a deeper level than it would happen in a different context. It was very interesting to hear other people’s thoughts regarding a common experience. I definitely was person-centered, which I appreciate especially.
I believe these kind of workshops need to happen in every group of people, corporations would benefit tremendously offering their workers to have such an experience. It’s creating a new community within an existing one. I’m sure having spaces to open up and share aspects of their human experience changes the way people feel in their work places.
I appreciate having had the opportunity to participate in this workshop. It definitely gave me new perspectives on what the COVID has meant for the world and the impact it has had on our everyday lives. I strongly recommend going through this experience and feel what it brings to a group.
